I played most of the games on the provided list, but some that really stood out to me were:
1) Click for Obama; I see this game as fitting into all three categories (advergames, serious games, and persuasive games). The game is obviously advertising the Obama campaign, it tests players on different facts about our government, and teaches the player about it if he/she doesn't get the answer correct, and it might persuade some players to look into what Obama stands for and to go out and vote.
2) ID the Creep; this is a serious game aiming towards teaching children and teenagers how to watch out for online predators. I don't think it's a very effective game. It only lets players pose as young girls, as if boys are never victims of online predators, and the conclusions of each activity basically show that girls are all trustworthy and alright to talk to online, while guys are not. As if girls could never have friends who are guys because any guy who happens to be online must obviously be a predator. Um...ok.
3) The Torture Game; I'm not even sure what category this game would fall under. It doesn't seem to be advertising anything. I can only guess that it's either a game to teach people different ways of torturing someone else, or it's a game trying to persuade people how fun torture really is or isn't (depending on what the player thought of the game). Based on the comments underneath it, some people liked it and some didn't. I thought it was a pretty pointless game, and it still confuses me.
